Federation Awards Over $35,000 in College Scholarships to Local Students

Each year, The Jewish Federation of Sarasota-Manatee awards education scholarships to qualified applicants attending College, Community College, Vocational/Technical School or University.  Chaired by Laura Briefman, this year the Education Scholarship committee, unlike in previous unique Covid prohibitive years, was thrilled to award $35,330.00 in college scholarships to 6 students for the 2022-2023 school year. The scholarships awarded went to students who demonstrated a commitment to community service and volunteerism, to hard work toward academic success, and/or financial need.

“Every year when I read the scholarship applications I am so impressed with the involvement of the students in the community, and the passion they have for their future careers.  It is a privilege to help them achieve their dreams by providing college scholarships thru the Federation.” – Laura Briefman, Chair
