Please join us in honoring this couple for their strong sense of Jewish Tradition and Community Values. The Gala Dinner will feature entertainment by alumni of The Perlman Music Program/Suncoast.
Sadie and Sol Laufer have been an integral part of the Chabad Community in Sarasota for many years. They were introduced to each other by Rabbi Steinmetz (leader of the Chabad of Sarasota community) and were married in 2007. They are both immigrants to the United States; Sol, a survivor of the Holocaust, moving here from Israel, and Sadie from apartheid South Africa born to parents who had fled Germany in 1935. Sol is a retired optics engineer who has received awards from NASA and other scientific societies for his contributions to the US space program, including the Apollo moon program. They participate in numerous local cultural and Jewish activities in the community and are dedicated to the future of Jewish tradition.
Chabad Lubavitch of Sarasota & Manatee Counties will be honoring Sadie and Sol Laufer at its 22n​ d​ Annual Gala Dinner on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Michael’s on East in Sarasota.
