The Sarasota Jewish Theater, a project of the Jewish Federation of Sarasota/Manatee, is planning a riveting follow-up for its successful inaugural season, with three entertaining, emotionally engaging, contemporary plays.
Tuesdays with Morrie is the autobiographical story of journalist Mitch Albom and Morrie Schwartz, his former Brandeis University professor. What starts as a casual visit turns into a last class in the meaning of life. This touching, life-affirming, deeply emotional drama, sprinkled with a generous dose of humor, will burst to life on the stage with performances by Sarasota favorite Don Walker and Derek Brookens. Performances, April 6 through 10.
Each play will have 1 preview and four performances, and separate Zoom discussion with the cast and directors. We hope to stream the plays for a week following the live performances but have not yet received clearance from the Actor’s Union. For this, we ask you to be patient, and hopeful…just as we are.
We are delighted to be performing live onstage in the brand-new interim Theatre at the Players Center in the Crossings of Siesta Key Mall on Tamiami Trail and Siesta Drive. Tickets range from $18 to $36 and are available at www.Jfedsrq.org/events. For information email SJewishtheater@gmail.com.
