The Congregation for Humanistic Judaism (CHJ), which meets at Unity, 3023 Proctor Rd., Sarasota will introduce Holocaust survivor, Leo Melamed, who found safety in the US during WW11. He and his parents outwitted the Nazis and KGB. The Japanese Consul General of Lithuania issued thousands of life saving visas to Jews. Melamed received the highest award bestowed on an individual by the emperor of Japan for his outstanding contributions to Japan-US relationships and for promoting the recognition of Consul-General Chiune Sugihara's Lifesaving deeds.
