Join us for a wonderful evening! Rabbi Sternfield will be making a fun Mexican meal and then showing the movie "Coco". Coco is a 2017 American 3D computer-animated fantasy film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. The story follows a 12-year-old boy named Miguel who is accidentally transported to the Land of the Dead, where he seeks the help of his deceased musician great-great-grandfather to return him to his family among the living. The date coincides with the Mexican festival called the day of the dead, which is Nov 1, right after Halloween. The film is about this festival and the Mexican take on the afterlife, and how we remember and “connect” with our dear ones. The comparison to Jewish rituals of remembrance e.g. yahrzeit, yizkor and cemeteries will be worthwhile to discuss and reflect upon. This will be a fun night for all! Cost: $13 TBE members $15 Guests. No charge for kids under 10!
