In response to recent antisemitic threats and supremisist acts of violence, The Jewish Federation of Sarasota-Manatee is at the center of security-based planning for faith-based institutions with a special emphasis on threats to Jewish organizations. In partnership with the Secure Community Network (SCN), we have moved from a response-only model to a full wrap around prevention-based program that enables deliberate assessment, training, communication plans and staffing to ensure our community is prepared and protected.
The new Federation campus will serve not only the Jewish community but the entire population of Sarasota-Manatee, and the building of new community spaces requires careful and deliberate security planning. Federation leadership is committed to protecting the children, families, adults and seniors who will utilize the facility on a regular basis, as well as visitors to the new campus. Serving such a diverse community – especially one that is primarily Jewish – brings its own set of security challenges.
New Federation campus security measures include:
The Federation’s new security training and resource center is designed to benefit all of Sarasota Manatee, with special emphasis on those who work with faith-based institutions.
A safe place to work, learn, visit and play, the new Federation campus will centralize security planning, offer training and resources, and create a security shield to protect our community.
